The situation for finding financing for the further development of the small wind turbine in the Netherlands are very bad.
Half way
this year we received following information from a subsidiary agency regarding
a subsidy application in the Netherlands:
'The assessing RVO committee's belief in small wind turbines for energy
generation is very limited, due to a number of technically failed subsidy
projects in this area. A second reason is that social acceptance, licensing,
etc. are considered particularly problematic, making the chance of success even
smaller. A contact person at RVO even told in so many words that they no longer
approve any projects involving small wind turbines, etc. Rightly or wrongly, it
is the opinion that has taken hold among the subsidy providers and that means
that the chance of success of an application is negligible.'
The situation for finding financing for the further development of the small wind turbine in the Netherlands is therefore very bad. We now have a prototype at TRL5 level and it would take several millions to build the TRL6 prototype (which is also suitable for TRL7). Since the financing is missing the developments are on hold at the moment.
That's why I decided to sell the patents with prototype and software.
Why do I believe in this model wind turbine? An important and impactful application for the Torque Wind Turbine could be alongside roads and at agriculture farms. Alongside roads additional applications could be mounted to the tower, like mobile network transmitters, LED lights, sensors, traffic observation camera’s, LED traffic information screens, etc.
